THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MONKEY'S WEDDING was stubborn loading. b) GIMMETHEGOLD was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. c) BUGLE was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h19) b) Permission was granted to Trainer JVA Strydom to saddle GUTSY BABY in the holding area. c) WORLD SOPRANO over raced in the early and middle stages. d) At approximately the 200m, GUTSY BABY had to be directed outwards to avoid making contact with MONKEY'S WEDDING, which was directed outwards to obtain clear running. e) BUGLE shifted sharply outwards away from the crop at the 150m and was corrected shortly before the finish. f) Jockey MK Katjedi reported that MISS TAKES took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) SLIVER OF SUNSHINE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
