Stipes Report
a) GOLDEN PAVILION and BLACK EGRET were nervous in the stalls. b) MR FOX jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h33) b) Shortly after the start, BLACK EGRET was bumped inwards by CLIFF TOP and, as a consequence, took a number of awkward strides. c) CLIFF TOP and GOLDEN PAVILION over raced in the early and middle stages. d) In view of the performance of JOHNNY APPLESEED, which was not persevered with from the 300m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) MERCANTOUR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM) f) CRUISE CONTROL, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised. (LM) FURTHER JOCKEY CHANGES: a) C Little (BLACK EGRET) rode +1kg of which 0.5kgs was carded. (57.8kgs) THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) JOHNNY APPLESEED - examined post-race. Not striding out right front. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
