Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	RED STATE jumped slow, losing one length and was slow into stride. 
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h16)
b)	Jockey R Fourie reported that PENTOLINA, which was directed outwards on entering the straight, did 	not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c)	In view of the performance of LADY VERITAS, which was hanging out from the 300m, the Veterinary 	Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d) 	In view of the performance of DOUBLE DASH, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this 	filly.
e)	When questioned regarding his riding of HER WORLD, Apprentice V Jodhee, accompanied by his Riding Master, told the Stewards that his instructions were, from its outside draw, to ride the filly from off the pace so she could finish her race off strongly. However, HER WORLD had jumped smartly and he was unable to get cover in the early stages. As such, he had elected not to fight the filly and had allowed her to race into a prominent position. 
	While the Stewards accepted this explanation, Apprentice V Jodhee was strongly advised that in similar 	circumstances, he should make every effort to ride his mounts to the instructions given to him by the 	Trainer.
f)	LARK'S SONG, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C 	Dixon, acting on behalf of Trainer WA Nel, was advised. (ZM)

JOCKEY CHANGES/OTHER:

a)	HER WORLD (*V Jodhee) raced in club colours - Stewards' permission.

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:

a)	LADY VERITAS - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected.
b)	PENTOLINA - examined post-race. Lame left hind. Rule 49.7 applies. A veterinary certificate is 	required prior to acceptance. Assistant Trainer A Alsop was advised.
c)	DOUBLE DASH - examined post-race. Abnormal respiratory noise.
d)	GIVEN TO FLY - mild post-race distress.
