Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DAS GUTE was nervous in the stalls and reared as the start was effected.
b)	PYROMANIAC and ERIKS LOVE were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h26)
b)	Permission was granted for ASINANTANGA to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
c)	The Stewards reviewed the start with regard to DAS GUTE in stall gate 2 and established that this horse had 	reared as the start was effected, had not been impeded and therefore took no further action.
d)	Shortly after the start, ERIKS LOVE was buffeted between PARDON ME, which jumped outwards and MELA 	STRENGTH.
e)	PARDON ME raced wide without cover on the first turn.
f)	LAGUNA VERDE shifted out away from the crop from the 300m and was corrected at the 200m.
g)	MELA STRENGTH was hanging out from the 300m and was corrected at the 100m.
h)	Apprentice N Nastili reported that VOLARE E MAMBO did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary 	Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
	Trainer DA McKenzie was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this mare on her return 	to the stables.
i)	LAGUNA VERDE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was 	advised. (LM)

a)	VOLARE E MAMBO - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected.
b)	DAS GUTE - mouth injury. 
c)	ASINANTANGA - coughing.
d)	PYROMANIAC - scalp wound right hind.
e)	ERIK'S LOVE - fatigued.
