ON ARRIVAL AT THE START, GRISELDA WAS SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. TIME WAS ALLOTTED FOR THE BETTING PUBLIC TO RESTRUCTURE THEIR BETS. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOVE NOT WAR was restless in the stalls, removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) BE THE ONE was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 400m, LOVE NOT WAR was brushed in by DRACHENFUTTER, which was directed inwards off the heels of FLOWER ISLAND, in an attempt to obtain a clear run. c) GRANDE HAWAII hung in from the 400m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) FLOWER ISLAND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Mathew de Kock was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) LIFE'S TREASURES was ridden by Jockey M Michel (declared 10 May 2026 at 08H47). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GRANDE HAWAII not striding out both hind. b) LOVE NOT WAR scalp wound left hind. c) PLATINUM SHAY mouth injury. d) DRACHENFUTTER cut into left hind.
