Stipes Report
EN ROUTE TO THE START, GOLDEN OPERATOR LIFTED ITS RIGHT FRONT SHOE, AND FIRE STORM LIFTED ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE, WHICH WERE ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OVATION STAR jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the 900m, MASTER SPY was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of OVATION STAR, which rolled in. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with GOLDEN OPERATOR in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) KING HARALD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) DAWSON'S ANVIL: Jockey C Murray weighed out at 55,3kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GOLDEN OPERATOR examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. b) KENSAL GREEN cast its right hind shoe in running.
