THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HUNGA TONGA was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels after PRETTY KARA passed following a second test. b) Shortly after the start TAYLOR'S VERSION and HEAVENLY MAFIA came together and brushed. c) SESAME hung in from the 400m. d) Approaching the 200m TAYLOR'S VERSION was carried in by HEAVENLY MAFIA which rolled in and was corrected. e) In view of the performance of RED TAFFETY (4.60 lengths, 33/10 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. f) Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of SAINT BRIGID, he misused his crop by striking this mare more than ten times (11) in the entire race. Jockey Veale signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1800. g) HUNGA TONGA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Maingard was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey K de Melo was the rider of HUNGA TONGA (advised 17.05.2026/08h08). THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) RED TAFFETY : Not striding out right front and in season.
