THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SCARLET EMPRESS lost 2 lengths. b) INDIGNATION lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) As the start was effected SCARLET EMPRESS jumped awkwardly outwards, making contact with the left front starting stall gate. c) SARSDEN SURPRISE stumbled leaving the starting stalls. d) YUKINKO hung in from the 450m. e) In view of the performance of QUERARISTINYFERARI (8.80 lengths, 18/10 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. Trainer N Kotzen will be asked to report back on the condition of this filly on return to stables. f) ROYAL CREST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
