Race 3: RACING TODAY MAIDEN PLATE (F & M) (For Maiden Fillies and Mares)

DURING THE CANTER PAST, JOCKEY N KLINK WAS DISLODGED FROM SHIRAZ GLOW. JOCKEY N KLINK WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE PARAMEDICS AND TRANSPORTED TO THE MEDICAL CENTRE FOR FURTHER ASSESSMENT. SHIRAZ GLOW WAS TAKEN IN HAND, EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARIAN AND PASSED FIT TO RACE. HOWEVER, TRAINER B WEBBER ELECTED NOT TO SEEK A REPLACEMENT RIDER, AND THIS FILLY WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. AS A RESULT, THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED.

THE STARTER REPORTED:	
a)	RENDEVOUS IN RIO was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
b)	DESTINY'S DREAM and BEAUTIFUL ONE jumped outwards leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b)	ARTIFACT was baulked for a clear run from the 300m to the 200m.  
c)	In the concluding stages, SPRING TIDE was steadied when awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and DESTINY'S DREAM, which was carried in by MISS RIVER DANCER, which in turn was carried in by RENDEVOUS IN RIO, which hung in from the 600m. 
Jockey M Yeni (RENDEVOUS IN RIO) appeared before the Board and was advised to make more of an effort to keep his mounts straight in races. 
d)	Jockey Wes Marwing reported that he felt something amiss with BABY RED in running. 
The Veterinarian was requested to examine. 
e)	VINDOLANDA broke down in the concluding stages and was eased out of the race by Jockey D Schwarz.  
f)	MISS FANTASTIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	POLLY PLUMMER was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 21 May 2026 at 08H21).		

THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED:

a)	BABY RED examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
b)	VINDOLANDA fractured right front pastern. Humanely euthanised. Specimens collected for analysis.  Trainer C Dawson was advised (MB).
c)	TWENTYONEONSCARLET lame left front - suspected carpal fracture. Veterinary report required prior to racing. Rule 49.7 applies. TWENTYONEONSCARLET is required to perform a gallop to the satisfaction of the NHA veterinary department prior to her next engagement. Trainer A P Peter was advised (MB). 
	
SCRATCHED:
a)	CHERICHERILADY off feed (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).	
b)	BLAZING BREEZE reserve runner. Advised 21 May 2026 at 08H15.
c)	SHIRAZ GLOW Trainer B Webber elected not to seek a replacement Rider. Advised 21 May 2026 at 13H11.
