THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels after ETZEBETH passed following a second test. b) Shortly after the start THE NAME OF DLADLA, SOUND OF FREEDOM and HADRIAN'S WALL were bumped when awkwardly placed between RED HOT GUY, which jumped outwards sharply, and DOG SOLDIER, which jumped inwards. c) Jockey C Habib (DOG SOLDIER) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. In view of this, the Veterinarian was requested to examine. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this gelding is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. d) Jockey A Mgudlwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of HADRIAN'S WALL, he misused his crop by striking this colt more than ten times (11) in the entire race. Jockey Mgudlwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1800. e) WAR EMPEROR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G I Rich was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) IMPERIAL VALOR : Fatigued. b) RED HOT GUY : Nothing obvious detected. c) DOG SOLDIER : Nothing obvious detected. d) WAR EMPEROR : Coughing.
