Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHRISTMAS CACTUS lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels after MAGMA MAGIC passed following a second test. b) Shortly after the start, SERPENTINE FIRE and CHRISTMAS CACTUS were squeezed out between BEST CANDIDATE and RUN TO RIO which were bumped inwards by NEXT OF KIN, which jumped inwards leaving the starting stalls. c) Approaching the 300m RUN TO RIO was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of SERPENTINE FIRE, which rolled out and was immediately corrected. This resulted in CHRISTMAS CACTUS being steadied and directed outwards into a clear run. d) At the 250m ROOSTER BRADSHAW was baulked for a clear run, when awkwardly placed between RUN TO RIO and SIERRA SAGRADA and on the heels of SERPENTINE FIRE. This precluded Jockey M Yeni from riding his mount out to the end of the race. e) Shortly before the finish, NEXT OF KIN which hung in from the 500m and had come to the end of its run, was steadied in anticipation of making contact with the heels of MASTER BOMBER which was directed inwards away from the heels of MAGMA MAGIC to continue its run. f) In view of the performance of NEXT OF KIN (2.75 lengths, 28/10 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) MAGMA MAGIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A J Rivalland was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey C Zackey (BEST CANDIDATE) weighed out at 55.8kgs, 0.5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) BEST CANDIDATE : Nothing obvious detected. b) NEXT OF KIN : Not striding out right front. c) ROOSTER BRADSHAW : Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe. SCRATCHINGS : a) DYLAN'S CHAMP : Reserve runner (23.05.2026/08h15). b) LUCKY DOLLAR : Reserve runner (23.05.2026/08h15). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
