THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OCEAN MISTRESS was restless in the stalls. b) FLOWER TRYST was slow into stride. c) ANUSHKA lost 1 length. d) FERRARI FLAIR lost 2 lengths. e) KAVADY lost 3 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the 400m SECRETARY BIRD was switched to the inside of GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE to continue its run. c) At the 350m GET UP and LADY NANCY came together and brushed. d) GRISELDA took a number of awkward strides in the running. Thereafter Jockey P Mxoli reported that this filly took no interest in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) In view of the performances of QUERARI DANCER (12.05 lengths, 25/2 in the betting) and VENTURA BOULEVARD (13.30 lengths, 14/1 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. Trainers J S Snaith and A C Greef respectively will be asked to report back on the condition of these fillies on return to stables. f) GET UP, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
