During the loading process KUDIKARAN became restless and rushed the front gates. This gelding was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinarian, passed fit to race and reloaded. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KUDIKARAN rushed the front gates. This gelding was released, examined by the Veterinarian, passed fit to race and reloaded. Trainer M Pandaram will be advised to reschool this gelding. b) THE BRONX BULL lost 1 length. c) STATUS SYMBOL lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start DEAR DOC jumped out awkwardly and made contact with the left-side front starting stall gate, bumped TIME IS PRECIOUS and thereafter, when corrected, made contact with BETTER NEVER ENDS. c) Approaching the 200m STATUS SYMBOL was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the outside of THE BRONX BULL, which rolled out away from BETTER NEVER ENDS. d) Shortly before the finish BETTER NEVER ENDS, when racing in restricted room between the inside running rail and on the inside of THE BRONX BULL, which hung in and shifted in, came together and brushed for a short distance. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into this incident. After reviewing the patrol film to this incident, no further action was taken. e) HAUTE COUTURE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M F De Kock was advised (DZ). f) RICH MAN'S WORLD, placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer V H Marshall was advised (MM). g) KUDIKARAN, placed third, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Pandaram was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil.
