THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO BEACH WALKER PROVING STUBBORN LOADING. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BEACH WALKER was stubborn loading and thereafter restless in the stalls. Trainer J S Roux was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). b) COVER CHARGE jumped inwards leaving the stalls, making contact with the right-side front gate. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey S Moodley reported that SENDAI did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. c) Jockey K Strydom reported that NEBRASKA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. d) SKY PILOT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) SENDAI not striding out behind. b) NEBRASKA abnormal respiratory noise; not striding out left hind. c) WINTER WHISPER abnormal respiratory noise.
