Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	CREME BRULEE (D Ashby) was restless in the stalls, dropped her head down which got stuck under the front gates, was taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay.
b)	FLYING FIRST (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls.
c)	HEY SIRI (C Orffer) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride.
d)	DEFINING MOMENT (G Cheyne) and EVERLASTING (S Khumalo) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 
 
a)	The saddle on BENEATH THE MOON slipped forward during the canter past, resulting in Jockey K Steyn having to dismount and lead his mount from the 900m to the start.
b)	At the 600m FLYING FIRST (K de Melo) had to be steadied momentarily when close to the heels of TIPSY TARRAGON (C Zackey), which raced green and was hanging in.
c)	Jockey S Khumalo reported that EVERLASTING felt very uncomfortable in its action and he did not persevere with his riding from the 600m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 
d)	In view of the performance of BUSY LIZZIE (R Fourie) (Betting 4/1 ; Distance 9.25) Trainer AE Sands will be requested to report back on the condition of this filly on her return to the stables.
d)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding FLYING FIRST (K de Melo), Trainer DM Kannemeyer will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
e)	In view of the report from the starter regarding CREME BRULEE (D Ashby), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 12/05/2022 to 18/05/2022 inclusive). CREME BRULEE may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
f)	DISTINCTION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (SC)
