Stipes Report
DURING THE CANTER PAST, FAITHFUL MISTRESS (R DANIELSON) PROVED INTRACTABLE CANTERING TO THE START AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JINGER JAM (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) AURORA GREEN (M Yeni) and DANCE MONKEY (R Munger) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FAITHFUL MISTRESS (R Danielson) proved intractable cantering to the start. This filly is suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4, until she proves tractable cantering to the start on a Raceday. Trainer P F Matchett advised (DR). b) Approaching the 600m, FLIGHTLIGHT (C Habib) was carried out by MATTIAZO (A Fortune), which was directed outwards to obtain a run parallel to the outside running rail. c) At approximately the 500m, Jockey G Lerena felt something amiss with JINGER JAM in running and eased this filly out of the race. JINGER JAM was attended to by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. d) In view of the performance of ON A JET PLANE (P Strydom), (distance 27,75 lengths, betting 9/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey R Munger reported that DANCE MONKEY changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) An inquiry will be opened into Jockey A Fortune's (MATTIAZO) crop use during the running of this race. f) THE MIGHTIEST (*K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) FLIGHTLIGHT raced with a tongue tie on (declared 14 March 2025 at 09H41). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) JINGER JAM choked up. b) ON A JET PLANE not striding out right hind. c) DANCE MONKEY fatigued.
