Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	FARLAND (S Veale) lost one length. 
b)	HINCKLEY (K de Melo) and BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY (K Matsunyane) were slow into stride. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	FARLAND (S Veale) over-raced in the early and middle stages and was difficult to settle. 
b)	BILLY BAZOOKA (*D Geerthsen) raced wide around the turn from the 1400m and improved to take up a forward position at the 900m. 
c)	At the 300m, TABEBUIA (W Kennedy) was brushed out by MANHATTEN CAFE (T Godden) which was baulked early in the straight and was switched out to obtain a clear run. Thereafter, at the 250m, TABEBUIA (W Kennedy), which had come to the end of its run, was eased off the heels of GENIE (A Mgudlwa) which shifted in abruptly away from the outside rail. 
d)	BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY (K Matsunyane) was hanging out from the 200m. 
e)	In view of the performance of TABEBUIA (W Kennedy) (15.25 lengths, 4/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 
f)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning GENIE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer G H van Zyl acting on behalf of Trainer Gareth van Zyl was advised. (Suspension Dates : 15.05.22 to the 14.07.22, bdi)
g)	ARTIC TUNE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer L Karriem      advised (HM).
