THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLUE HORIZON (*K J Lihaba) fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing three lengths. Trainer W H Marwing was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, BLUE HORIZON (*K J Lihaba) fly-jumped, which resulted in Apprentice K J Lihaba's skull cap making contact with the starting stalls and him becoming unbalanced. As a result of this incident, on return to the jockey room, the Course Medical Officer was requested to examine Apprentice K J Lihaba, who passed him fit to fulfil his engagement in Race 9. b) SOLDIER'S EYE (C Habib) hung out from the 200m. c) OXALIS GOLD (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
