THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROSE FOR TRIPPI (C Habib) and THERE'S A STAR (*J Solomons) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow away, THERE'S A STAR (*J Solomons) failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that MAYENNE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) COLDHARDSTARE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (GF).
