Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SILVANO'S DASHER (C Orffer) backed out of the stalls, dislodged the rider who remounted and the colt was reloaded. Thereafter SILVANO'S DASHER (C Orffer) stood awkwardly in the stalls. b) TOUT A FAIT (G van Niekerk) stumbled leaving the stalls. c) PAPER TRAIL (J Jacobs) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SILVANO'S DASHER (C Orffer) was squeezed out shortly after the start. b) Approaching the 200m PATH OF CHOICE (S Khumalo) was carried out marginally by TOUT A FAIT (G van Niekerk), which was hanging out, shifted out slightly and was immediately straightened. Thereafter TOUT A FAIT (G van Niekerk) and PATH OF CHOICE (S Khumalo) raced tight in the concluding stages. Jockey S Khumalo called for a race review regarding this incident and after viewing the race recording, took no further action. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding SILVANO'S DASHER (C Orffer), Trainer B Crawford will be advised to have this colt re-schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) TOUT A FAIT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
