Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DREAM SPIRIT (O Noach) jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	QUICKSTEP (G van Niekerk) raced with its head up and proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
b)	Leaving the 300m QUICKSTEP (G van Niekerk) was steadied when tightened for galloping room between the inside running rail and BELLA MO (K Steyn), which was hanging in. Shortly thereafter, QUICKSTEP (G van Niekerk) shifted out slightly away from the inside running rail and made contact with the hindquarters of BELLA MO (K Steyn), resulting in both horses becoming momentarily unbalanced.
c)	SPYWING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer D McLachlan, acting on behalf of Trainer GS Kotzen, was advised. (JF)
