THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GRAZINGINTHEGRASS (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls.
b)	MY BESTIE (L Mxothwa) jumped outwards.
c)	WILD COAST (G van Niekerk), SAFARI BLUE (JP van der Merwe) and LEGITIMATE (M van Rensburg) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN (F Herholdt) over raced in the early and middle stages, raced clear of the field and tired in the latter stages.
b)	Jockey G van Niekerk was unable to ride WILD COAST to the finish when awkwardly placed between GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN (F Herholdt) and SAFARI BLUE (JP van der Merwe) which rolled in marginally.
c)	ENCRYPTION (S Khathi) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt)
d)	Jockey A Domeyer was charged with a contravention of Rule 21.13 in that he did not advise the Stipendiary Board timeously that he was unable to fulfil his riding engagement on LEGITIMATE, resulting in a change of rider. Jockey Domeyer signed an admission of guilt and was fined R500.00.
e)	Trainer GD Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.1.1 in that, as the Trainer of LEGITIMATE, he failed to obtain prior agreement from Jockey A Domeyer to ride LEGITIMATE. Trainer GD Smith signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R500.00.
f)	When assessing this matter, the Stewards decided that it was appropriate to sanction both parties due to the circumstances involved, which included that there was no firm commitment from both parties regarding the engagement of the rider of LEGITIMATE.
g)	TARANTINO, the fourth-placed horse was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. (LM)
