THE STARTER REPORTED: a) INTUITIVE (JP van der Merwe) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. b) COLORAMA (T Gould) was nervous in the stalls and jumped outwards. c) LOUVAIN (M van Rensburg) was nervous in the stalls. d) INDOMAVEL (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly before the start, Jockey K Minnie (INDOMAVEL) was dislodged without incident, was examined by the paramedics and declared fit to ride, causing a delay. b) INTUITIVE (JP van der Merwe) was squeezed out between RED RULES (E Webber) and COLORAMA (T Gould), which jumped outwards. c) INDOMAVEL (K Minnie) took an awkward stride at approximately the 400m. In view of this report, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with INTUITIVE. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with PERFECT ANGEL. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) BUTTERCUP, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Laing was advised.
