THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BOMBERS IN THE SKY (M Yeni) jumped awkwardly. b) OTTO LUYKEN (JP van der Merwe) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 1500m TRIPLE TIME (R Fourie) was allowed to race around runners and into a prominent position. b) At the 1200m NEBRAAS (C Zackey) took an awkward stride away from the inside running rail. c) BLACKBERRY MALT (C Habib) was hanging in from the 400m. d) Jockeys JP van der Merwe and R Fourie reported that they felt something amiss with OTTO LUYKEN and TRIPLE TIME respectively. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. e) HOLDING THUMBS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
