Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOPHIA'S FIRST (*S Sosibo) jumped awkwardly and IMPERIOUS LIGHT (J P van der Merwe) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) FORT ALADO (*J R Syster) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 700m, CLARKSON (G Lerena) was steadied to avoid the heels of KHIZA (M Yeni) who in turn was steadied and switched out to avoid the heels of SEA OF GALILEE (D De Gouveia) which ducked out sharply and was corrected. b) Apprentice K A Brewer was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking KOOL BAIKAL more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice Brewer signed an Admission of Guilt and a penalty of R1500 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (15) and Apprentice Brewer's recent record with regards to this Rule and Guideline (1). c) KOOL BAIKAL (*K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee A Langa advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) DA CAPO was ridden by Jockey N Klink. b) WALTZING AL was ridden by Jockey K Matsunyane (declared 30 May 2022 at 14H59) who weighed out at 52,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) FLYING GRACE raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 25 May 2022 at 10H25) and equipped with blinkers (declared 28 May 2022 at 09H34). b) BAYMAX raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 31 May 2022 at 08H10). c) DA CAPO raced equipped with pacifiers (declared 28 May 2022 at 12H37).
