THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOOK TO THE STARS (D Schwarz) was unruly and stubborn loading. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer P P Vermeulen was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to LOOK TO THE STARS, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 3 June 2022 to 9 June 2022. LOOK TO THE STARS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P P Vermeulen was advised. b) Apprentice P Mxoli was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking QUEEN BRITANNA more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice P Mxoli signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 2,000.00 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (15) and Apprentice P Mxoli's recent record with regards to this Rule and Guideline (3). c) In view of the performance of SPARKLEINHEREYE (R Fourie), (distance 9,25 lengths, betting 5/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. d) CERULEAN DANCER (J Greyling), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) GIRL SCOUT raced with a tongue tie on (declared 2 June 2022 at 06H30). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SPARKLEINHEREYE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
