THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OCEAN WARRIOR (W Kennedy), IMPERIAL MASTER (*P Mxoli) and NARTJIE (J P van der Merwe) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 800m, WILLOW'S WISH (R Fourie) ran onto and clipped the heels of YOUCANTHURRYLOVE (S Khumalo). b) OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE (D De Gouveia) was eased out of the race from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey D De Gouveia reported that he felt something amiss with OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer F P Habib was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. c) In view of the performance of WILLOW'S WISH (R Fourie), (distance 4,00 lengths, betting 7/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey R Fourie (WILLOW'S WISH) appeared before the Board and was instructed to ride his mounts out with sufficient determination and vigour so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. d) BLACK THORN (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) YOUCANTHURRYLOVE raced equipped with a compression mask (declared 26 May 2022 at 13H56).
