THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DOUBLE MAGIC (G Lerena) was switched in at the 150m to continue its run. b) Jockey R Danielson (STORMY SEAS) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey R Danielson appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his riding of STORMY SEAS in the concluding stages. He explained to the Board that STORMY SEAS had overexerted himself in the early stages and had tired badly in the concluding stages. c) SAMUEL SALT (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Binda advised (RS). When questioned regarding the improved performance of SAMUEL SALT, Trainer C Binda explained that the addition of the blinkers had accounted for this gelding's improved run. The Board noted Trainer C Binda's explanation.
