THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	JACK AND GINGER (JP van der Merwe) was stubborn loading.
b)	TAKE THE WORLD (K Minnie) stood awkwardly and jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	MAGNUM FIRE (C Zackey) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	SUPER NOIR (S Devoy) raced wide throughout.
b)	MY BOY REECEY (D Bogaleboile) was hanging in in the latter stages.
c)	Apprentice KA Brewer reported that FLYING PEKAN took an awkward stride in the pull-up area. Thereafter, he felt something amiss and dismounted. FLYING PEKAN was attended to by the course veterinary surgeon on the track.
d)	Trainer T Laing will be advised to report back should she find anything amiss with ALMIGHWAAR (R Fourie) (Betting 5/1;  Distance 12.20) on his return to the stables.
d)	Apprentice KA Brewer was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking FLYING PEKAN more than 12 times in the entire race. Apprentice KA Brewer signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the distance over and manner in which Apprentice KA Brewer used his crop and the number of strikes (13) over the permissible level.
e)	ASSURED, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. (LM)
