THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	FERNEY (S Veale) was stubborn to load and lost one length.
b)	DANCE TO THE MUSIC (J Gates) lost two lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Jockey M Mjokwa reported that he felt something amiss with BIM BAM BUDDY in the running.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
b)	Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse CLEAN SLATE more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (16) Jockey S Moodley struck the horse CLEAN SLATE, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed.
c)	Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse UNIQUE POWER more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey G Wright struck the horse UNIQUE POWER, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (3) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2000 was imposed.
d)	DENVER (*K Strydom), placed seventh, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (HM). 
e)	RED MAHOGANY (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (NS).
