Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHAMPAGNE CHARLIE (+P Mxoli), MADAME VICKI (J P van der Merwe) and SECOND BREATH (*S Sosibo) were slow losing one length. b) MEMORIAL DAY (*J R Syster) jumped outwards and PERFORM (D Schwarz) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, WOW (R Munger) was brushed in by PERFORM (D Schwarz) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. Consequently, Jockey Schwarz became unbalanced and lost the footing to his left-side stirrup iron which he regained shortly thereafter. b) Shortly after the start, KIT KAT KATIE (C Zackey) was squeezed out between KITTY CORNER (R Danielson) and MEMORIAL DAY (*J R Syster) which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) HIGH ROLLER (*J Solomons), LADY OF POWER (J Mariba) and MADAME VICKI (J P van der Merwe) raced green. d) TIME FO ORCHIDS (S Khumalo) rolled in from the 200m. e) QUE CEU AZUL (*K A Brewer) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. f) Jockey C Zackey reported that KIT KAT KATIE choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with GIMME THE FLAME in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. h) Apprentice J R Syster reported that MEMORIAL DAY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. i) TIME FO ORCHIDS (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee S Mtwesi advised (RS).
