Stipes Report

THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE.

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	PURPLE PITCHER (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	NAVAJO NATION (*K J Lihaba) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c)	NONE OTHER (C Zackey) was slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Jockey G Lerena (SON OF RAJ ) did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with SON OF RAJ in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
b)	In the concluding stages ROYAL VICTORY (M Yeni), which shifted out away from the crop, and FIRE ATTACK (R Fourie), which shifted in away from the crop, came together and bumped, and shortly thereafter bumped again.  
A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by an Objection being lodged by M Yeni on behalf of the second-placed horse, ROYAL VICTORY, against the winner, FIRE ATTACK (R Fourie), on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Board, after giving regard to the evidence presented by the relevant parties, the movement of both horses which caused the first bump, the proximity of the second contact to the finish line, the distance of 0.25 lengths between these two horses and the manner which both horses finished the race, could not be comfortably satisfied that the result had been affected by this incident, therefore overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges result to stand. 
Jockey M Yeni's deposit was refunded
c)	FIRE ATTACK (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
