THE STARTER REPORTED: a) POLAR WORLD (C Zackey) was reluctant to load. b) NIPPY WINTER (C Orffer) jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. c) LA FOLIE DOUCE (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was rescheduled as a result of the delay in the previous race. b) Leaving the 200m VERONIQUE (J Jacobs) rolled in and had to be steadied away from the heels of SEEKING PEACE (G Cheyne). c) Approaching the 100m a tiring BRIANNA (K de Melo) was steadied momentarily when close to the heels of PACIFIC GREEN (G van Niekerk), which rolled out. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that POLAR WORLD took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of NOOSA PRINCESS (S Cele) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on PACIFIC GREEN. Jockey G van Niekerk signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00. g) LA FOLIE DOUCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
