THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	WAZ WOUTER (Y Ramzan) stumbled leaving the stalls.
b)	PYROMANIAC (L Mxothwa), CENTRAL CITY (K Minnie), HOLOCENE (R Fourie) and FINAL EDITION (R Munger) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Apprentice N Baboo (EL ROMIACHI) rode a satisfying qualifying ride.
b)	Shortly after the start, GOLD GUNNER (MK Katjedi) was bumped inwards when WAZ WOUTER (Y Ramzan)  	stumbled and shifted sharply inwards when leaving the stalls. Thereafter, WAZ WOUTER (Y Ramzan) raced 	wide without cover around the bend and into the straight.  
c)	Leaving the 500m PYROMANIAC (L Mxothwa) had to steady momentarily off the heels of CENTRAL CITY (K 	Minnie), which shifted inwards slightly.
d)	BRENDEN JAMES (C Little) was hanging in from the 400m.
e)	WAZ WOUTER (Y Ramzan) was hanging in from the 400m and was corrected at the 200m.
f)	Jockey R Fourie reported that HOLOCENE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was 	requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to 	the stables.
g)	Jockey S Naidoo reported that he felt something amiss with UNION ROSE. The Veterinary Surgeon was 	requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer WGC Miller was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to 	the stables.
h)	BRENDEN JAMES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was 	advised. (LM)
