Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VENTUROUS (*K Strydom) was stubborn to load. Fly-jumped as the start was effected. Trainer C Hewitson was advised to re-school this filly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) OUR EMILY (*R Venniker) over-raced in the early stages. b) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why SPIRIT OF DACHA (*D Geerthsen) clipped heels at approximately the 1250m. c) At the 400m, AIRBUZZ (M Yeni) was bumped in by SPIRIT OF DACHA (*D Geerthsen) which was hanging in from the 450m, proving difficult to assist. The Board was satisfied that Apprentice Geerthsen had made several attempts to straighten SPIRIT OF DACHA and therefore took no action. d) Approaching the 300m, MY CHERIE AMOUR (*M Zuma) which shifted out, was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of ICY NIGHT (*G Pieterse) which shifted in away from the crop. e) In the concluding stages, MY CHERIE AMOUR (*M Zuma) was switched in to avoid running onto the heels of VENTUROUS (*K Strydom). f) ICY NIGHT (*G Pieterse), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P Peter advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ICY NIGHT raced equipped with blinkers (advised 20.06.22/7h12). b) SPIRIT OF DACHA raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 14.06.22/12h37). c) GREEN DREAM raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 10.06.22/10h04). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) VENTUROUS : Severely cut into left hind hock.
