Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KOOL BAIKAL (*K A Brewer) and SILLY FELLA (*S Sosibo) were slow losing one length. b) PERFECTLY PUTT (*R A Venniker) and BURNING ICE (*S Hlengwa) were slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 600m, GOLDEN TUNE (*M K Katjedi) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of SILLY FELLA (*S Sosibo) which shifted out away from the crop. Thereafter approaching the 400m, MINGSHI (*G Pieterse) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of SILLY FELLA which continued to shift out away from the crop. Apprentice S Sosibo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of SILLY FELLA, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to GOLDEN TUNE (*M K Katjedi) and MINGSHI (*G Pieterse) when he shifted out from approximately the 600m. Apprentice Sosisbo signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. Dates of Suspension: 1 July 2022 to 7 July 2022 (both days inclusive). b) Apprentice S Sosibo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking SILLY FELLA more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice Sosibo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times that Apprentice Sosibo used his crop (14) as well as his recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline (2). c) GOLDEN TUNE (*M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L J Human advised (DR). When questioned regarding the improved performance of this gelding, Trainer Human explained to the Board that this gelding's race on 7 June 2022 was after a long break and over a distance well short of his optimum trip. It was his opinion that GOLDEN TUNE had appreciated the 1800m distance of today's race. Trainer Human was advised to race this gelding over similar distances where possible in future. d) DARK TRAVEL (*D B Geerthsen), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Webber advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MY KINGDOM was ridden by Apprentice M H Zuma who claimed a 4kg allowance as (declared on 23 June 2022 at 08H11). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MARIPOSA raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 15 June 2022 at 13H41). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MINGSHI brush wound right hind. b) BURNING ICE brush wound left hind. c) DIAMONDS N DOLLARS abnormal respiratory noise. SCRATCHED: a) CLARKSON card scratching. Advised 16 June 2022 at 07H40. b) RIVER JORDAN retired. Advised 20 June 2022 at 13H29. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
