THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WECANGOALLNIGHT (G Cheyne) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. b) MARVEL WILLIAM (C Zackey) stumbled leaving the stalls, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 250m WECANGOALLNIGHT (G Cheyne) was steadied when close to the heels of SHIFTING PATH (J Jacobs). Thereafter, WECANGOALLNIGHT (G Cheyne) was hanging out. b) LIGHT SPEED (G van Niekerk) was hanging out and shifted out from the 150m. Jockey G van Niekerk appeared before the Board and was advised that the Stewards expect him to make more effort to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. c) PORT LOUIS (L Mxothwa) shifted out away from the crop from the 100m. d) At the 100m TOTHEMOONANDBACK (R Fourie) was awkwardly placed and had to be steadied momentarily on the outside of AT MY COMMAND (K de Melo). e) LIGHT SPEED, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
