THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WONDERING STAR (J P van der Merwe) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BLUE MOON CITY (K Matsunyane) hung in from the 300m. b) Apprentice K A Brewer, the rider of EURO CENT, accidentally dropped his crop at the 100m. c) Jockey S Khumalo (HUMBLE TUNE), whilst racing in close proximity to ELUSIVE SWANN (M Yeni), had his crop entangled in Jockey Yeni's rein on two occasions in the concluding stages. d) Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that WONDERING STAR took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) ELUSIVE SWANN (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (LN). f) WEST POINT (R Munger) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) WONDERING STAR was ridden by Jockey J P van der Merwe who weighed out at 54,1kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared (declared 28 June 2022 at 10H25).
