THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FUTURE TURN (M Yeni) was slow into stride. b) SKY JEWEL (D Ashby) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Bantam (GLOBAL FORESTS) dropped his crop at the 250m. b) FEDERAL RESERVE (G Cheyne) was hanging out in the latter stages. c) Jockey R Fourie, the rider of AUTUMN MOON, reported he felt something amiss with this gelding and he did not persevere with his riding from the 100m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) AUTUMN MOON (R Fourie) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt) e) PAS DE NOM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer D Lilley, acting on behalf of Trainer DM Kannemeyer, was advised.
