THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAUDI SWEEP (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CANFORD CLUB (K Matsunyane) commenced to give ground to the field from the 200m. b) Shortly before the finish line, INCLUSION (*N Nastili) was brushed in by AFTERBURN (P Mxoli), which hung in from the 200m. c) Jockey Yeni reported that KNIGHT'S FIRE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) OBSIDIAN (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (SM).
