a)	JOHNNY'S HOPE (M Mjoka) and WHIZ BANG (*G Pieterse) lost one length. 
b)	BELLO GROSSO (S Veale) and AMERICAN DREAM (T Godden) were stubborn to load. 
c)	RED MAGICIAN (S Moodley) was stubborn to load. Trainer G Puller will be advised to re-school this gelding. 
d)	VIRTUAL IMAGE (J P v'd Merwe) was restless in the stalls. Slow into stride. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	GALAXION (*D Geerthsen) was hanging in throughout. 
b)	Jockey M Mjoka signed an admission of guilt for Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse JOHNNY'S HOPE more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey M Mjoka struck the horse JOHNNY'S HOPE, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed.
c)	Trainer K Naidoo signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1, in that he failed to ensure that the owner's colours were available for the horse JOHNNY'S HOPE. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed.     
d)	SUN BLUSHED (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer M L Roberts advised (BB).
