Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	PROMETTERE (K de Melo), FIRU STAR (A Mgudlwa) and PIRATE PRINCE (C Habib) lost one length. 
b)	EDDIE THE MOVER (G Wright) and FIRU STAR (A Mgudlwa) were restless in the stalls. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Approaching the 250m, CAPTAIN COLA (T Godden) had to ease when awkwardly placed between MIDNIGHT GOLD (*S Hlengwa) which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened and WYLIE RILEY (R Fourie) which was carried in. 
b)	An Inquiry will be opened to establish why WYLIE RILEY (R Fourie) suffered interference approaching the 200m. 
c)	Jockey M Mjoka signed an admission of guilt for Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse JETAVANA more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (16) Jockey M Mjoka struck the horse JETAVANA, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2500 was imposed.
d)	Trainer P Lafferty signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8, in that he presented TEMPERATE ZONE in the parade ring incorrectly equipped for this Race. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed.   
e)	JETAVANA (M Mjoka), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Assistant Trainer T Crawford acting on behalf of Trainer L Crawford advised (HM).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	TEMPERATE ZONE was ridden by Jockey M Yeni and this gelding raced with a tongue tie (advised 11.07.22/7h36). 
b)	JETAVANA raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 30.06.22/13h53). 
c)	PIRATE PRINCE raced with steel shoes (advised 07.07.22/9h43). 

RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER :
a)	TEMPERATE ZONE : The colours should read:- light blue, broad red band with white hoop, hooped sleeves & cap. (Colour change - 07.07.22)
