THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	Fair start. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Shortly after the start, DOUBLE DREAM (S Veale) and MVULAZANA (S Moodley) were hampered and squeezed out and AISLING (R Fourie) was bumped and unbalanced. 
b)	AISLING (R Fourie) raced wide into the straight. 
c)	At the 200m, LADY TIPTREE (K Sakayi) was carried in by WINTER'S DESTINY (K de Melo) which was hanging in from the 250m and shifted in slightly. 
d)	Jockey J Gates reported that he felt something amiss with PRINCESS TEA in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e)	Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt for Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse GIN AND TONIC more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey A Arries struck the horse GIN AND TONIC, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed.
f)	GIN AND TONIC (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer W H Marwing advised (HM).
