Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TYPESET (P Strydom) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) RIVER PIRATE (*J Solomons) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, TRE AMICI (M Yeni) was bumped out by TYPESET (P Strydom), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) At approximately the 700m, the noseband on CHASIN (*P Mxoli) became partially detached. CHASIN'S (*P Mxoli) bridle was examined post race and found to be in good condition. The reason for the partial detachment was due to the excess strap to the noseband coming loose during the running. c) THE LONGEST TIME (M Khan) hung in in the concluding stages. d) Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that the bit slipped through LEBANESE POUND'S mouth during the running of the race. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward. e) TYPESET (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CHASIN raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 5 July 2022 at 08H16). b) KITE SURFER raced equipped with blinkers (declared 12 July 2022 at 08H05). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LEBANESE POUND speedy cut right hind. b) THE LONGEST TIME abnormal respiratory noise and coughing post race. c) TYPESET scalp wound left hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
