THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MINSTREL GALLERY (K de Melo) was stubborn to load. b) DEVILS AND DUST (M Yeni) was slow into stride. c) ROY'S WOLF (M Mjoka) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start, ACT OF MERCY (K Matsunyane), DEVILS AND DUST (M Yeni) and ASPOESTERTJIE (*D Geerthsen) were carried out by DELTRON ENERGY (J Gates) which jumped outwards. As a consequence of this, DEVILS AND DUST (M Yeni) lost momentum and ground to the field. b) ROY'S WOLF (M Mjoka) raced detached from the field throughout. c) ROYAL VENUS (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 300m. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning DELTRON ENERGY (J Gates), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer B Kennedy was advised. (Suspension Dates : 18.07.22 - 15.09.22, bdi) e) ALTO ALEX (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
