THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLUSH OF DAWN (*S Hlengwa), GUNSMOKE (S Khumalo), METALLIC GOLD (A Mgudlwa) and VALIENTE (*M Katjedi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) GUNSMOKE (S Khumalo) and MESCAL (M Yeni) came together and brushed on a number of occasions between the 400m and the 150m. Thereafter, MESCAL (M Yeni) commenced to hang out. b) KNIGHT WARRIOR (C Zackey) raced wide around the turn from the 700m. c) Jockey R Fourie reported that EXPEDITIONER did not stride out freely. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning EXPEDITIONER (R Fourie), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer C Dawson was advised. (Suspension Dates : 18.07.22 - 15.09.22, bdi) e) EXPEDITIONER (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) QUESTION MASTER raced with cheek pieces and without ear muffs (advised 17.07.22/7h17). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) EXPEDITIONER : Not striding out right hind and bi-lateral epistaxis. Confirmed 60 days suspension.
