THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TANUSHAS STAR (+D Botha) was stubborn loading. Trainer J S Roux was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) MISS LILY (+E Tivane) jumped awkwardly outwards leaving the stalls losing two lengths. c) SMELTING (+B Nyambo) and BARDOLPHIA (+M Duba) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) BELLE OMBRE (+C Simpson) jumped awkwardly with its head up leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, GAETANA (+V Sithetho) was awkwardly placed between SOUTHERN STYLE (+S Mosia), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and FUTURE THINKER (+W van Staden), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) TANUSHAS STAR (+D Botha) hung in from the 400m. c) Work Rider C Simpson reported that he felt something amiss with BELLE OMBRE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Work Rider S Mosia reported that SOUTHERN STYLE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning BELLE OMBRE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer B Webber was advised. f) DAME TWINING (+P Mongqawa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
