Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	FRANCA (R Fourie) was stubborn loading and rushed the front gate, causing a delay.
b)	CRIMSON CAUSEWAY (A Domeyer) and VICTORIA TOWER (X Ndlovu) were stubborn loading.
c)	SOUND CHECK (S Khathi) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow into stride.
d)	PURPLE MERCHANT (W Kennedy) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The tongue tie on VICTORIA TOWER (X Ndlovu) was replaced at the start, causing a further delay.
b)	Jockey K Minnie (PERSICA) dropped his crop leaving the 200m.
c)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with MISS NIBBLES. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d)	Jockey W Kennedy reported that PURPLE MERCHANT did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e)	Jockey X Ndlovu reported that VICTORIA TOWER changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
f)	In view of the report from the starter regarding FRANCA (R Fourie), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 23/07/2022 to 29/07/2022 inclusive. FRANCA may not be presented for re-passing during this period.

g)	Jockey S Khathi was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking SOUND CHECK more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey S Khathi signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1500,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the distance over and manner in which Jockey S Khathi used his crop and the number of strikes (15) over the permissible level. 
h)	Jockeys JP van der Merwe and K Minnie were charged with a contravention of Rule 56.4.1.3 in that they failed to proceed to the parade ring immediately after being instructed to do so by the Clerk of Scales. Jockeys JP van der Merwe and K Minnie signed Admissions of Guilt and were each fined R250,00.
i)	GILLIAN ANNE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (SP)
j)	GLACIER GOLD, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (SP)
