THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAPPY CHANCE (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TEARDROP (G Cheyne) proved difficult to settle between the 1100m and the 800m. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with LADY OF GOLD, which took an awkward stride at the 250m, and he did not persevere with his riding. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) LUCY THE PINK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GW Ennion was advised.
