THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	FEELING GROOVY (R Fourie) and DILLUH (T Godden) were slow into stride. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	At approximately the 900m, COFFEEBERRY (K Matsunyane) ran onto and clipped the heels of REGINAS ANGEL (*S Hlengwa). 
b)	Approaching the 150m, COFFEEBERRY (K Matsunyane) had to switch out to avoid running onto the heels of LOTS OF MAGIC (A Arries) which shifted out away from the crop from the 300m and was immediately straightened. 
c)	Jockey K Matsunyane signed an admission of guilt for Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse COFFEEBERRY more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey Matsunyane struck the horse COFFEEBERRY, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed.
d)	REGINAS ANGEL (*S Hlengwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer N Kotzen advised (DZ).
